Wedding Story
Photographer’s Comments: “Less than a month ago we had the pleasure of capturing Kelsey & Mitch’s wedding. We have been photographing them and their sweet little girl for a couple of years now and have absolutely fallen in love with this family of three!
“Their wedding was local for us, but considered a destination wedding to their friends and family, whom traveled from Arizona to celebrate their big day.
“The day was magical, with a sunset ceremony taking place in a gorgeous field on the Katzfey Ranch. This was the Ranch’s first wedding out in the field and I definitely feel it won’t be their last. Take a look, we think you’ll agree!”
Bridal Q & A
Q: Tell us about your wedding!
“Our theme was sort of a rustic chic. Very outdoorsy, with lots of wood accents. Our colors were a deep purple, lavender, mint and a touch of gold! I like a little sparkle and shine, and my groom likes very simple. So we found something that was just a little of both. I think it worked perfectly! It really captured our personalities.”
Q: Let’s talk wedding decor
“There was lots of wood accents, flowers, a little gold sparkle here and there! My husband built our wooden arch for our ceremony which made it so special. My dad and I cut the wood we used for our cake stands off a mountain in my hometown all the way in Arizona.
“My groom and I also cut and stained the wood signs we had down the aisle of our ceremony and I painted the wording. I loved having a little bit of DIY, I felt it made it very special!”
Q: What were the florals like in your wedding?
“We didn’t concentrate much on the floral aspect, our bridal bouquets and the guys boutineers were the only real flowers of our wedding.”
Q: Let’s talk fashion
“My groom is very laid back, and does not like suits! So it was only fitting to have him wear nice jeans, his old boots and a nice button up shirt. I felt it wouldn’t be right if he wore anything different!
“My dress was ivory, tulle with lots of lace detail and a touch of sparkle on the top. It had a long train which I LOVED and an open back. I loved the way it looked with my boots, it was just enough pretty with a little but of country.”
Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
“I loved doing a first look! I felt it was a really special moment seeing eachother, just the two of us before our ceremony.”
Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice to share with other couples planning their day?
“My only advice would be to try not to stress over wedding planning. It is such a beautiful and special day no matter what! Enjoy the day, it goes by too fast!”
