Wedding Story
Photographer’s Remarks: “I first met Lindsey in the middle school we attended in Ojai, we took honors classes together, ran cross country in the horrid heat, drifted apart, then came back together through Facebook and bonding over our dogs.
“During Cherry Blossom season we went up to Portland to visit them and take some beautiful engagement photos and get to know them both as a couple. They’re silly and cute, bring out the best in one another. Family is everything to them and they’re so proud to have finally made things official.”
Bride’s Comments: “Eric and I met in grad school, studying Geography. We literally needed maps to find each other. But once we did, it was apparent that we were a good match and would become more than friends. We took our time, dating for more than five years before getting engaged. But we did a lot; we built a life together.
“We earned our Masters degrees, moved into an apartment in Woodland Hills, California, adopted our dear pup Snowy, and eventually took on a great adventure and uprooted to Portland, Oregon.
“As we built our life together, our relationship grew stronger. We have lifted each other, not just through difficult times, but all the time. With our particular strengths, we challenge and bring out the true potential in each other. We are complementary and together, are better people. Our wedding was truly a celebration of our relationship.
“We knew from the start that the most important thing about our wedding was to be surrounded by our closest family and friends. We even tried to choose vendors with whom we have a personal connection.
“It was an honor to share our love in front of the people we care about most.As far as the details, we knew we wanted our wedding to be unique and personal. We made decisions that would reflect our personalities and represent us as a couple. In lieu of a cake, we had our favorite desserts: pie and cheesecake. The tables were named after some of our favorite Oregon breweries, and the vintage china place settings were hand-picked from various secondhand stores around Portland.
“With the help of our friends, family, and wonderful vendors, everything ended up coming together beautifully. It was a night filled with heartfelt and witty speeches, outstanding food and drink, and particularly memorable dancing.
“From dancing into the reception with our wedding party to the theme song from Friends, to our sentimental first dance, to turning around to find Grandma cutting a rug, it was a night that we will remember fondly for the rest of our lives.”
