Wedding Story
Photographer’s Comments: “Rachael and Nick have been planning this day for a year and a half. She wanted an outdoor wedding to reflect them as a couple. They chose their venue according to their style.
“Their all outdoor, bohemian styled wedding was planned planned to perfection with every detail!
“On the day of the wedding a small rain cloud popped up but didn’t show much of a threat. As the day went on the radar started to look less promising for their outdoor wedding and reception.
“The 4:00 ceremony turned into a 6:30 ceremony as we waited out the storm. As soon as the rain passed, everyone pitched in to make their dream wedding come true. It was the truest form of love.
“Rachael was discouraged, but the amount of love being shown by friends, family, guests, and other vendors she was quickly comforted. The wedding was beautiful and the evening was perfect. When you have that many people in your corner that love you, anything is possible. “
Bridal Q & A
Q1: Tell us about your wedding!
“Our wedding day inspiration originated from my love for the macrame pieces crated by my MOH. The macrame fit perfect with a bohemian theme and soft mauve/purple color palette. Intricate details included my heirloom diamond passed down from my husband’s great grandmother, as well as her dishes.
“There were also memory photo charms eloquently suspended from my bouquet. During the ceremony we incorporated the wine box unity, where we placed personalized letters to each other to be read on our first anniversary.”
Q2: Let’s talk wedding decor
“Our wedding decor was centered around the handmade macrame, however, we also used a variety of antique dishes, brass candlesticks, velvet, and lace to compete the table centerpieces.
“We hung DIY embroidery hoops on tree limbs to give the entrance to the ceremony site a charming ambiance. The outdoor photo booth was accented by draping garlands of Saree fabric to draw the eye of our guests.”
Q3: What were the florals like in your wedding?
“A combination of real and artificial purple and mauve flowers were used for the bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets.
“Our florist suspended ribbons of different colors, textures, and sizes from the bouquets. The colors brought all the girls dresses together beautifully!
“The ceremony backdrop, photo booth setup, and tables were adorned with greenery while ferns of all shapes and sizes were placed along the aisle, in the bouquets and boutonnières, and around the ceremony site to enhance our boho vibe. The wedding florals tied everything together perfectly!”
Q4: Did you personalize the day in any way?”
“Our wedding day had many special moments. A close family friend sang as I made my way down the aisle and another good friend provided live music entertainment in between the wedding and reception. We are definitely lucky to have such musically inclined people in our lives!
“My favorite part of the wedding day was when the rain finally stopped and the sun appeared through the clouds to give us the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and pictures as husband and wife. The rain that preceded the ceremony made the grass and trees lush, green, and gorgeous!”
Q5: Let’s talk fashion
“I wore a fitted, high neck dress with intricate ivory lace details.
“My husband was in a two toned ensemble with a velvet bow tie and pocket square to match his best man’s tie.
“Each bridesmaid wore a slightly different color and style dress with jewelry that complimented the neckline of each. To bring forth more boho style, they wore a green leaf flower crown with half up braided hairstyle.
“The groomsmen outfits included matching white shirts and blue pants with brown leather suspenders, dusty purple bow ties and personalized wooden cufflinks.”
Q6: How did you meet?
“My husband and I are high school sweethearts. We started dating when I was a freshman and he was a junior. 10 years down the road, he finally proposed!
“The proposal was romantic as it was just him and I in our home. He proposed to me on his grandparent’s anniversary with an heirloom diamond that belonged to his great grandmother.”
Q7: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
“Everything about our wedding was special to me. One specific moment that I anticipated was when my husband and I locked eyes as my two older brothers walked me down the aisle to him. Another special moment was when we said our vows. I became very emotional as I said mine, causing lots of tears at the ceremony!”
Q8: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
“To anyone planning their wedding, make sure you have a backup plan for rain! I never imagined that it would rain on my wedding day. And even though the weather said it wasn’t suppose to, it did.
“The most important advice I can give you is –invest in a good photographer! A photographer can make or break your day. Ours was amazing, not only at photography and making getting pictures fun, but with keeping everything on time and being there for encouragement and advice.”
