Windy Cathedral Veil for a Winter Wedding in Chicago

Photographer’s Remarks: “Sarah + Dale enjoyed every second of their Galleria Marchetti wedding. The weather was chilly and the snow was still on the ground from the first snow fall of the year.

“The couple met in high school when she became the manager of his wrestling team. Because Sarah has asthma, she couldn’t participate in sports, but she wanted to be part of a team. That turned out to be a great decision for her because she met the love of her life. They didn’t start dating immediately. The sparks were flying as they flirted. After high school, they headed off to different schools, but they continued dating.

“Getting ready at the Hotel Chicago, Sarah and her bridesmaids enjoyed a luxurious suite to get beautiful. Because they were having a traditional Catholic ceremony at DePaul Cathedral, Sarah + Dale didn’t see each other until she was walking down the aisle with her Dad.

“There is no couple like them. You share such a reciprocated love for each other.”

“After the ceremony, we headed to Lincoln Park for some photos in the snow. The weather was damp and very chilly, but the whole bridal party had some fun with the photos. Sarah was quite a trooper as her beautiful dress got pretty wet. We made a quick stop at the Wrigley Building for my favorite shot of the day. Wind and a cathedral veil is an amazing combination!

“Dale is a catch in every sense of the word. He’s crazy smart, funny, a good person and is amazing to my sister.”

“After our trolley ride around town, it was time to celebrate at the Galleria Marchetti wedding venue! Sarah chose a sparkler entrance to the cocktail hour.

“Because of the amazing design work of Shannon Gail weddings, the room looked absolutely stunning! Sarah was completely blown away when she saw the room for the first time. From the personalized honey favors to the ivy backdrop, every detail was exquisite.

“After the sweet toasts and the first dance, guests enjoyed a heated cigar bar and pizza from the pizza oven on the terrace. The next day, the beautiful couple were off to Fiji for their first trip as a married couple! Congrats to a beautiful couple!”
