Wedding Story
Photographer’s Comments: “Shelly and Jan’s wedding was centered around throwing the most festive party possible, not only to be the happiest day of their lives, but because their closest family and friends were coming from all over and expected to have the most brilliant time.
“Their vision was to take their loved ones to their most beloved place in this world: Golden, Colorado. It needed to be right along Clear Creek where they have spent some of the most memorable moments of their relationship. The town, the creek, the beautiful Lookout Mountain shining in the background- this is their home and the most important thing to this couple.
“The bride and groom were focused on providing the best party ever for their loved ones, so they choose to not have a wedding party. Shelly was handed down her Mother’s wedding dress, and had it altered slightly to fit her glamorous wedding vision. She added a magical tulle skirt for the wedding ceremony, which was later taken off and stood alone with her stunning belt so she could dance freely the rest of the evening. She choose to have a stunning collection of bracelets that all had powerful stones and rocks that symbolized different feelings and vibrations to the bride. She choose to have a special heirloom pin that belonged to her grandmother to put in the ribbon of her wedding bouquet.
“They arranged a grand kick off of their wedding with a beautiful ceremony outside of the historic Golden Hotel. Their guests were given a colorful sparkling glass of champagne with rock candy inside (an ode to their theme of bold colors, sparkling gems, and glamour).
“During the ceremony they planted an Aspen with soil from their home towns, shared their own emotional vows, and exchanged rings.
“Afterward we headed out with the couple to capture them with their beloved City of Golden, including under the historic Welcome To Golden sign, and the vibrant creek including their special spot on the rock right next to the river.
“We then headed just into the Clear Creek Historic Park where a stunning tent was filled with golden vases and bottles holding colorful flowers or peacock feathers fuchsia and teal mercury glass votive candles, golden pots with the most perfect succulents, and a beautiful personalized geode for each guest at their seat. There were sparkling Golden table numbers! And outside the tent there was a welcome table full of a trail mix bar for when the guests arrived, along with sunscreen, and bug spray (everything they needed to feel comfortable in this natural setting).
“They decided to hire local Food Trucks for their catering and let their guests have the most delicious wood fired pizza, or one of Bob’s atomic burgers. Later they rocked out a desert food truck that served bite sized brownies, cheese cake, little cherry pies, sprinkled Rice Krispy treats, and even cotton candy! Their trail mix bar turned into a popcorn bar for a late night snack. Guests danced the entire night away!
