Rustic Orchard Wedding with Sunflowers & Cowgirl Boots!

Photographer’s Comments: “Julian, California is a little mountain town, world-famous for its apples. Set at the top of rolling green hills, made up of the largest boulders I’ve ever seen sits the beautiful Apple Lane Orchard! It’s a working apple orchard and cider processing company, and recently, they’ve become a wedding venue! Only a few minutes up the hill is Inspiration Point, the most gorgeous outlook that was the perfect backdrop for Stephanie & Levi’s first portraits as husband and wife!

“In case you don’t live in San Diego, let me tell you a little something about 2019. The Chinese calendar states that it’s the year of the pig, but it has been the year of the RAIN!!!

“As Stephanie & Levi’s wedding day got closer and closer, I was so worried that their supposed-to-be sunny, summer, mountain wedding would turn into a dark gray mess. But, true love conquers all — including the weather! As the June gloom faded away, the chilly, gray morning turned into a sunshine-filled, unusually warm afternoon, with just the perfect amount of a breeze (hello perfect veil shots).

“But even if the weather hadn’t been so cooperative, I knew it was going to affect Stephanie and Levi. After shooting their engagement session, and getting to know these two, it was clear that they were not just celebrating a day. They were celebrating the legacy of love that they were creating together. Plus, these two are just down for a good time, and a little rain wasn’t going to stop anyone!

“The theme for their wedding was rustic, country, family and fun. The couple didn’t want to focus on wedding fluff, and instead focused on the bonds between their family and friends! With a color palette of taupe, gray, yellow and sage, I knew that set in the valley of Pine Hills, everything was going to be just beautiful. Stephanie is a true country girl at heart, and let the world know it with her cowboy boots and turquoise jewelry! Her bridesmaids also donned boots and all held sunflower bouquets. They served a BBQ dinner and danced to country music with red solo cups in hand.

“Levi is a man of few words. A gentle giant if you will. Some of my favorite parts of the day were watching the love he has for Stephanie appear across his face! His reaction to their first look was just darling. And his expression watching his beautiful bride walk towards him up the aisle was absolutely priceless. I loved watching as they said, “I do,” not only to each other but as Stephanie officially become a second mother to Levi’s son, Reed. (I’m not crying, you’re crying!)
