Wedding Story

Remarks from Carrie Thengvall Floral Design

“I absolutely loved working with our vendors to create this styled scene. Growing up a rice farmer’s daughter in a small farming community, I’ve been surrounded by the beauty of the Sacramento Valley my entire life, and that’s really where my inspiration came from for doing this shoot.

“The styled shoot combines my love of the outdoors, farming, the natural beauty of rice fields ready to harvest, and beautiful flowers all in one. Yes, please!

“I love using a lot of texture in my designs and wanted to combine whites and oranges to keep with a fall bridal look. I love the pop of blue in combination with the oranges and especially against the backdrop of the golden fields. I’m a Swedish gal too so blues and yellows just go together, naturally.

“The nests I created seemed perfect for this setting, being in the Pacific flyway with so many feathered friends around. The brides’ dress was actually chosen because it reminded me of the snowy white Egrets that reside here.

“Of course, in farming you are at the mercy of mother nature, and ironically, the one day that we planned to shoot, it rains! So, braving wind, rain and a bit of mud, we toughed it out in true farm girl fashion and had a lot of fun in the process! We hope you enjoy!”
