Wedding Story
Photographer’s Remarks
“Taylor and John David ‘s wedding was an impressive mix of urban and forested details. Starting the day with the girls getting ready at a downtown hotel with city views and transitioning to a majestic forest chapel tucked in the middle of the city.
The wedding was classic, and romantic, but also very sentimental and highly personalized. Black tuxedos and bridesmaids dresses with white florals, and a country club reception with a checkered dance floor laid the foundation for a high-class event. Countless personal details, however, make the event impactful and one of a kind.
They were married on what would have been Taylor’s late grandmother’s birthday. She shaped Taylor into the woman she is today, so Taylor and John David wanted to honor her on their wedding day. Taylors’s mother had a painting done of Taylor in her wedding dress and an outfit her grandma most likely would’ve worn to the wedding if she had been there. Words do not do it justice. That was displayed with an “in memory of” sign at the reception. Taylor also brought a special bottle of Burgundy to the wedding. It was a gift she was given on her first birthday, with a note that it was intended to be enjoyed on her wedding day!
John David wanted to thoroughly enjoy the celebration with family and friends on the dance floor. To emphasize this, they selected a black and white checkered dance floor and live band to draw the crowds out. They also ended the night with a bang and custom favors! Bags reading “Wishing you riches from the new Mr. and Mrs.” contained $1 scratch off tickets. And in honor of Taylor’s favorite go-to “late night” snack, they had a late-night tray with honey butter chicken biscuits wrapped in Whataburger style orange and white packaging that read “What a Wedding”.
Overall, the day was absolutely wonderful, personal, emotional and downright fun! I am so honored I could be part of Taylor and John David’s wedding and help document each moment!”
