Bride’s Comments: “When we look back on our wedding day it blows us away how much love and support surrounded us. Our wedding was a labor of love and we most definitely felt loved that day. It was such a perfect atmosphere to commit our love for each other in a field overflowing with it.”
Overall theme for the Ceremony and Reception
“I would say we had a rustic, homemade and country themed wedding.”
Wedding Invitations
“I made them myself and got them printed at Vista Print.”
Highlights from the Ceremony & Reception
“A few of my highlights were my grandmas being the flower girls, the intimacy of the ceremony, seeing friends and family from all over the world, dancing at dusk, and rowing off in our ‘getaway’ row boat.”
Wedding Guest Count
“We invited around 300 guest and our final count was around 250.”
Was it difficult to narrow down your guest list?
“It was difficult to narrow down the guest list, especially since my husband and I grew up on the same little island where we know and are friends with most of the island.”
Which pieces of music did you use during the ceremony?
“My pops and I walked down the aisle to ‘Love and Some Verses’ by Iron and Wine. My husband and I walked out to ‘Hey Ho’ by the Lumineers. Our good friend/singer song writer Mandy Troxel sung ‘For The Beauty of the Earth’ while my husband and I took communion.
Wedding Budget
“Our budget was $8,000 and we stayed right around there. We saved money every place we could – Homemade decorations, asking to borrow things from friends, having friends make food, bake the wedding cake, asking a friend to DJ, and growing your our own flowers, etc. We are so fortunate to have such an awesome support system that was so willing to help make our day perfect.”
Challenges Planning your Wedding
“Trying to balance graduating college and being my own wedding planner. I had so much help from my mom, mother in-law and dozens of other worker bees though. I guess it was just hard because I had to be the one leading things.”
Best Advice you received while Planning your Wedding?
“Remember to enjoy the day! This is definitely something that can be lost when you are trying to plan the whole wedding. Once the wedding day came, I tried my best not to worry about any of the details and just let my self soak up every minute of our wedding day. It was such a perfect day.”
Wedding Flowers
“All sorts. We asked a few family members and friends to grow flowers in their garden for our wedding, so we ended up with a wide variety.”
Where did you go on your Honeymoon?
“We went to Belize and fully enjoyed our time lounging, reading, snorkeling, kayaking, chilling on Caye Caulker.”
So many great ideas! I love inspiration, thank you so much.
