Wedding Story
Photographer’s Comments: “For this styled shoot we were inspired by the wedding venue, Mine Hill Distillery and its history. This historic location, once a cigar rolling factory and now a distillery and event venue, is New England to the core. Everything that could be re-purposed and salvaged from the original building was, and it created a completely unique space.
“The historic exteriors are complimented by unique, modern interiors that showcase the craftsmanship of yesterday and today. A team of local builders, craftsmen and merchants helped restore and adapt the 19th Century landmark, saving a central part of Roxbury’s history and creating something new and exciting.
“Mine Hill Distillery has the perfect mix of rustic and modern elements. As a guest to Mine Hill Distillery you get to experience the beautiful Mine Hills of Connecticut that are saturated with century old trees, land that holds buildings that have been around for over 200 years as well as a new aged Connecticut distillery.
“To accent the venues beauty we brought on some special details that we thought would highlight the venues unique style. First, we have the vintage and classic handmade heels both the bridesmaid and bride wore by House of Elliot. The ties were specially designed by Knotty Tie’s to accent the colors of spring in Connecticut and the century old trees that align the property. The stationary created by Avante Garde Design plays into the modern elements, while Six at the Table’s table styling captured the pure rustic feel of the space.
“The florals were all foraged by Angie Wilson, a freelance florist that works closely with Eddy Farms in Newington, CT. She focused on accenting nature in its newest form during spring time in Connecticut! We kept the florals light to allow the space to do most of the talking.
“To keep the space fun and creative Cat Wilcox designed backdrops for our lace cake by Imagination Cakes and the guest book by This Delightful Design and escort card table. Each backdrop was carefully designed to blend the modern, and yet rustic feel of the space. Not to mention, the escort cards are held carefully within Cuban cigars for guest to find their seats, and grab a cigar!
“When whiskey, Cuban cigars and classic cars come together for your wedding day, you know it is going to be a good time!”
