Dia de los Muertos Themed Wedding

Here is one more Cinco de Mayo celebration post for today.  Although this real wedding theme isn’t for Cinco de Mayo, they were celebrating the “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead), I still  love any reason to celebrate, decorate or dress up.  So when it is a holiday/celebration, no matter where it is in the world, I love seeing all the fun traditions and decor ideas and of course sharing them with you.

Bride’s Remarks: “James and I met at his grandma’s celebration of life fiesta while we were eating tacos and listening to a mariachi band. We hit it off right away talking about our passions for  scuba diving and surfing. We started surfing together weekly and quickly became friends. We have so much in common, including our love for mexican food, culture and the language.  He proposed at Pinecrest lake, after a hike around to sunrise point, with a woven grass ring that he wove himself! I said “YES”! and the wedding planning began!

We chose the date of  November 2nd and decided to have a  “Dia de los Muertos” themed wedding, since we met at James Grandma’s funeral.  This way our wedding could celebrate our love as well as our love for our relatives who have passed on. The “Dia de los Muertos” theme was so much fun, we loved every detail of our decor.  Most of the ideas were pinned on a Pinterest board I had made.”
