This is the week of animals in weddings. I am not sure why it happened this way, but it seems like this week’s collection of wedding and engagement shoots all feature a four legged friend. Fine by me as I adore cute dogs and cats.

Their Story
From the bride: “We wanted to keep the celebration simple, relaxed, and true to our taste & personalities. We are both laid-back, enjoy nature, appreciate good whole food, and don’t need a lot of fan fair surrounding us. We knew we wanted a intimate ceremony with only our immediate family. We picked our favorite spot by the Maumee River. It overlooks Roche de Bout, a limestone island that dates back to the 1700’s as a meeting place for Indian tribal councils. It also has a magnificent view of the old abandon Interurban Bridge. After our wedding ceremony, we wanted a small backyard celebration with our closest friends and family. We were hoping to allow our guests to enjoy our home & beautiful waterfront backyard. Unfortunately, the weather on our day was anything but beautiful. It even hailed 2 hours before the ceremony! We ended up getting a tent and heaters. Everyone bundled up, but we still had the most wonderful night. We wanted the food to reflected our taste as well. The chose a pig roast by Deets BBQ and catering by Cynthia’s Catering. Our friends said it was the best food they ever had. Roasted root vegetables, corn & grit casserole with cheese & bacon, mashed sweet potatoes, kale salad, tartlets with brie, Apple, & caramelized onion, & mini risotto balls filled with butternut squash, sage & goat cheese. It was all delicious. Red wine, sangria, & seasonal craft beer also helped to keep us warm.”
